Time to Shop!

It's been quite awhile since I've been shopping in the quilt stores. My DH encouraged me to go out and play today so off I went.

I had a few things in mind that I wanted to search for but no real plan. The picture shows the end result of my shopping trip.

I thought the pink/red on the far left would work for my mini 9 patches that I've been exchanging with Wendy but it won't. :-( The blue print is backing for one of the blue and brown quilts I made last week (must get at least one quilted this week and off in the mail). The next three are for future projects. The red was just because I liked it. I've been searching for the WOW frosted dots by Lakehouse Fabrics so I was happy to purchase 3 yards for a future project. The fat quarters and Laurel Jelly Roll were just because I liked them. All in all a good shopping expedition.

We have many quilt stores here on the Surface of the Sun but I don't get inspired when I visit them. I long for stores like some of you experience - a variety of samples, etc. Maybe I should save some money and take a trip to an area that has some incredible quilt stores - any suggestions? :-)

Thanks for letting me share and thanks for visiting!

In Friendship!

I really like the double pink in the centre. I think I bought something like that is Portland with Patti. I think that a trip to the Pacific Northwest is a great idea. There is the big APNQ quilt show every other year in August -- it is this August 8-10. Then you could take a quick side trip to Canada and visit Wendy and me. There a a LOT of quilt shops in Washington and Oregon -- let me tell you!! I have been to many of them and I have barely scratched the surface. Now doesn't that sound like fun?? A little cooler up here in the summer.... hmmm what else can I add to convince you.....

There are a variety of quilt shops in my area, plus my other house is near Paducah. Come in April and we'll go to the quilt show there and then move back here to Indiana and hit the local places.

I'd entice you to come my way, but alas, no inspirational quilt shop anywhere near me. We'd have to drive 4 hours to get to the Quilted Crow. We could stop at Keepsake, but I do not get any inspiration from that store. If that's okay with you, come on over. It's a tad cold these days though. I am envious of Sharon. She has access to such inspirational shops. Maybe I should invite myself to her home! lol I'd do some serious damage there! lol Glad that in the end, it was still a good shopping trip.

Well of course you know about Country Loft in this neck of the woods . . . but over on The Surface I always enjoy The Quilted Apple and Quiltz if fun, too *s*

Try quilt shopping where I live - there just aren't any! :( If you went to a quilt show you would see lots of different styles under one roof. You came home with some really nice fabrics though!

Pretty good haul for not being too inspired! There's no real good quilt stores around here either, just one and about all they carry is Moda: nice, but predictable and always the same.

Those are some really great purchases. Does the pink/red not work for the 9 patches??? I tell ya I get so much inspiration from the shop I visited today "Two Thimbles", I was just there a few weeks ago and bought fabric and then today I bought more...oh my...I just love this shop.

My favourite place to shop is on the internet. There is one nice quilt shop near me that has repro fabrics, but I only go in there occasionally. Sometimes I go if I'm in a bit of a slump.

Yummmy, yummy fabrics. If you want to travel for some quilt shops -- um, come on out to the Chicago Western Suburbs. I know of a great shop (or 10 or so) that you would LOVE. Hehehehehe. Love the quilts you've been showing lately too -- what fun!

Still getting caught up! Happy belated Anniversary. WOW...that is a nice long while, huh?!
I do however disagree with a few of your one word answers in your game. You ARE beautiful!!! and I have to say your fear of acceptance is unfounded. Never have I met a more loved and respected blogger than you my friend!
