SPOILED ROTTEN

It’s been almost a week since I’ve done much blogging. Oh, I’ve visited different blogs and left a comment or two but my little blog has been very neglected.

So, what have I been doing instead? Well, sewing, of course! I’ve been having so much fun! Every evening I’ve been working on my “tisket tasket, cute little basket” project. All 36 basket blocks are done (yes, four of each design) and are now assembled into larger blocks. It’s time to start assembling the rows with sashing and cornerstones. Still a lot more work to do with this project and I’m loving it. It’s been an interesting segue for me because I’m using partial fat quarters and pieces parts of fabric.

So, why is this entry titled “Spoiled Rotten”? Well, I am very spoiled rotten – my DH, Ron, spoils me rotten to the core. On a regular basis he will encourage me to “leave the dishes”, “cook something simple for dinner”, “let’s go get a quick bite”, etc just so I’ll have time to sew. He encourages me to shop for more fabric! He will come into my sewing room to assist with fabric decisions cuz he has “the” eye for color that I don’t. Recently when I was attempting to clean my “walk-in” closet in my sewing room, I jokingly told my daughter that it was “dad’s fault” that I have so much fabric. She started laughing and said “this ought to be good – why is it Dad’s fault” – well because he encourages me to buy, buy, buy. Of course, it’s his fault. LOL This man will come to my rescue when my computer "acts up", when I can't figure out my computer, etc.
I’ve been married to Ron for over 30 years now and while it’s been a roller coaster ride for both of us – I’d be lost without him! Trust me, he's no Saint but he's my Sweetie and I'd be lost without him.
Thank you, Sweetie for loving me and spoiling me rotten.

Your baskets are looking fantastic can't wait to see the end result. My next project will be a basket quilt but the baskets are quite different from those.
I too have a hubby who spoils me rotten and waits on me hand and foot. How lucky are we. Isn't it just the best!!!! :-))

Oh, your basket quilt is looking lovely! There's nothing wrong with being spoilled rotten. I'm he's spoilled rotten also. It's a reciprocal thing you know! And, what relationship isn't a roller coaster ride? There are times when I want to turn my dh into can't think of something at the moment! lol And most of the times I just smile with joy! Keep well and happy quilting!

The quilt looks great! I can't wait to see it finished. Wish my hubby would clean out my sewing room. Well he would but he would toss it all!

My hubby is the same. he always helps out when I'm stuck on a design or colour. He'll also ask if I need anything at my LQS and drive me there any time. He once said that he didn't mind what I spent on fabric.
He works away quite a bit and always looks around to find a fabric shop for me. He's a diesel fitter, which is an extremely dirty job and will stay at the shop doorway so as not to dirty any of the fabric while he's buying for me. Most of the ladies he's come to meet on his trasvels think he's wonderful

A good husband is more precious than gems.
count me in as one of the other lucky ones who also has a gem.

Your hubby sounds like a keeper. Mine is very much the same but he stays away from my sewing. What pattern is the baskets from? I would love to make these.

Best wishes to you on your long and successul marriage Darlene!
I adore your basket blocks. The exact same pattern, with it's several basket variations is sitting out in my sewing room, waiting for some fabric inspiration to hit. Can you tell me what fabric group you are using for your basket blocks?
