More Cutting! ;-)

I've been having fun challenging myself to use my stash to do my projects this year. I'm not vowing to not purchase anything but I have challenged myself to try not to. I decided that I want to make a blue and brown quilt for a friend and while I'm at it one for me, too. Yes, the same quilt. teehee! I remembered that I had a shopping bag full of various cuts of blue, brown and background prints that I traded with some friends several years ago. I started sorting, pressing and cutting! I have all the background prints cut and now I need to cut set of blues and browns. I'll do more cutting sometime tomorrow and hopefully I'll sew most of the week end.

I'm late with my Winter Swap quilt but it's finished and will be in the mail tomorrow. I know my partner will be relieved when she hears that her quilt is finally on the way. Now, I'll just keep my fingers crossed that she'll like it.

By the way, have you noticed my 2008 Project list in my margin? Please take note that I've been quilting and binding! :-)

This week has truly flown by but I hope that you have had a nice one! Be kind to yourself and those around you! Thanks for stopping by!

In Friendship!

Those blues and browns will be lovely together. Looks like you've got some nice repro prints there. I'm looking forward to seeing what pattern you make with them:)

I'm trying to use up my stash in the same way . . . I know from experience if I say I 'can't' by more, it will only force me to shop. If I challenge myself to make do with what I have, I do better - okay so I bought a bunch last weekend, but I didn't want to just make-do with that particular project. Baby steps *s*

The blue and brown quilt will be so nice...I can't wait to see what pattern you've picked. I'm trying to use my stash as much as possible but like you said it's still ok to purchase if needed.

That's an impressive sidebar....yeehaa

You are on roll with the cutting--can you come to my house and do some for me? :) I have no doubt your friend will love the blue and brown quilt--but if by chance she doesn't, you may send it to me LOL!!!

I like blue and brown together. And I like the idea of a cutting day. I can't wait for our move next weekend so I can get my sewing set up again.
